It is a genuine privilege to welcome you to our school as Headteacher.

Returning to this school as a former pupil makes this role especially meaningful to me. This community has played an important part in my own journey, and I feel incredibly proud to now have the opportunity to lead the next generation of children as they begin theirs.

At the heart of everything we do is a belief that every child deserves to feel valued, inspired and supported to achieve their very best. We are committed to providing a nurturing, ambitious and inclusive environment where children are encouraged to develop a love of learning that will stay with them throughout their lives. Our aim is not only to help every child achieve academic success, but also to equip them with the confidence, character and skills they need to flourish at the next stage of their education and beyond.

Our school is built upon the values of being Respectful, Resilient, Inclusive, Proud and Independent. These values shape our daily interactions, our curriculum and the opportunities we provide, helping every child to grow into kind, confident and responsible young people who are ready to make a positive contribution to the world around them.

I firmly believe that education is strongest when schools and families work together. As a school rooted in its community, we value the relationships we build with our parents, carers and the wider community, recognising that these partnerships play a vital role in helping every child thrive.

Whether you are already part of our school family or are considering joining us, I hope our website gives you a real sense of the warmth, ambition and opportunities that make our school such a special place. I look forward to working alongside our children, staff, families and community as we continue to build on our strengths and create the very best future for every child.

Welcome to Upperwood Primary School, a place that I am very proud to support in my role as Executive Headteacher. Our school is a happy, vibrant school where pupils are provided with opportunities to develop the skills and knowledge they require to become life long learners and leave us ready for their next stage in education.

I believe that by providing our pupils with a motivating, happy and safe place to be they will achieve to their highest ability and that by providing an engaging curriculum we can foster a passion for learning that will inspire high aspirations for all. I make no excuses for having high expectations of both our staff and pupils and encourage a growth mindset in all.
